Fixed term 9 months (Maternity Leave Locum cover)

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a within our Centre for Medical Education for 9 months, to deliver innovative courses in medical education and to undertake educational scholarship activities based on educational interests and expertise as part of the CME team.

As a successful candidate you will be joining an expanding team of medical educators delivering innovative courses to high achieving students with a diverse range of backgrounds from all over the world. Most of the teaching is delivered on-line however some is face to face and in addition the Centre delivers Masterclass teaching and Medical Education Consultancy in a range of international locations, and you would be invited to contribute to these programmes. You will be encouraged to embrace educational research/scholarship in all its many varieties within the School of Medicine, the wider University and with a 4,500+ international alumni base CME also has collaborative opportunities with other similar institutions all over the world.

You will be based at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, one of Europe’s largest teaching hospitals where the School of Medicine provides outstanding opportunities in medical education and training supported by world class research facilities.

Priorities of the post are to:

  • Develop and deliver Master level modules for Medical Education Programmes.
  • Supervise and support students Masters level dissertation or projects.
  • Supervise and support PhD students undertaking medical educational research projects.
  • Undertake scholarly activities with the CME team (and colleagues more widely if appropriate) and so contribute to the work of CME, the School of Medicine and the wider University.

Who we’re looking for:

  • You will have either a Masters Degree in Medical Education (preferred) or a Masters in Education and/or MD, PhD pr Prof Doc in Medical Education or Education (or relevant discipline) however we welcome applications from those that are recently qualified (or soon to qualify).
  • Member/Fellow of the HEA or equivalent.
  • Evidence of competence in the principles and delivery of assessment and/or experience of educational evaluation/knowledge translation.
  • Experience of a research project or audit supervision at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level(s)
