The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. We are seeking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to join the environmental epidemiology research team at LSHTM to work on a large collaborative project assessing the health effects of climate change and other environmental changes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) on Environmental Change and Public Health and the work will have strong relevance to public health policy on climate change for the UK. 

Applicants should have a PhD in environmental epidemiology or similar, and be familiar with climate change adaptation and mitigation polices in the UK. Applicants should have extensive experience in applying advanced spatio-temporal epidemiologic methods to environmental health data, as well as a proven ability to produce peer-reviewed research outputs, including systematic literature reviews on environmental health topics. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 31 March 2025. The post is funded by the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Environmental Change and Health and is available from 1 October 2023.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6, point 32 at £42,875 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
