The School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health is seeking to appoint a Technician to l provide in-depth technical expertise in the set up and best operation of technical resources to aid the delivery of research and/or teaching objectives within the school. This will include technical expertise relating to  Containment Level 2 Microbiological safety cabinets, local exhaust ventilation systems (LEVSs), cryogenic storage and  compressed gas systems. In addition, you will undertake a range of technical/research support activities in line with the College/School Strategy and must have an enthusiastic outlook and willingness to be part of the SCMH research team which will involve working in several research groups providing core support. This post will be primarily based in the GCRC building but will also involve supporting groups based in other University Buildings. This post requires a flexible individual who is willing to work in partnership with multiple PIs for the success of the school.

The preferred candidate will ideally have detailed technical knowledge and skills in Tissue Culture, Molecular Biology, Histology and Microscopy experience.  They will also have significant IT, team working, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and experience of understanding, interpreting & resolving the technical requirements of service users.
