An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy (OT) to join our team at Oxford Brookes.

Located within the Department for Sport, Health Science and Social Work, we provide pre-registration OT programmes at BSc and MSc degree levels. The Occupational Therapy programmes are primarily delivered in the healthcare teaching facilities at the Marston Road site of the University, offering state-of-the art simulation skills labs and teaching facilities, and close to local clinical and research sites of excellence.

We would expect our new Senior Lecturer to undertake academic and academic-related responsibilities in the delivery of high quality OT education. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching and supervision of student research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the management, scholarly activity and developmental ambitions of the department, taking responsibility for a programme role as required. The post holder must have a postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy, and hold registration with the HCPC as an OT. Depending on applicant experience, split posts may be considered.

Experience required for the post:

We are particularly interested in encouraging applications for our Senior Lecturer post from candidates who have the following:

  • a clinical background in OT; all areas of clinical practice are invited, although paediatric experience would be an advantage
  • a track record of in course design / teaching / contributing to teaching and/or module leadership in a higher education institution
  • experience of supervising student research projects
  • experience of practice educator supervision of pre-registration OT students
  • possession of a suitable teaching qualification for a higher education setting (or willingness to complete in post).
