Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or other related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experiences. They should have a strong quantitative background; experience in analysing epidemiological data using R, STATA, SAS or other statistical packages; demonstrated expertise in the analysis of large and complex datasets; excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese; and the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.  They should have an excellent track record of academic research, preferably on pharmacoepidemiological studies. Proficiency in longitudinal analyses, and state-of-the-art statistical and epidemiological models would be an advantage. Experience in conducting qualitative studies (e.g. patient recruitment, performing interviews and analysing data from interviews and/or surveys) will be highly desirable.

The appointee will be responsible for coordinating an evaluation study on pharmacy services in primary care using both quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as conduct pharmacoepidemiological researches using big data. He/She will be expected to take a leading role to oversee research projects and supervise junior research staffs. Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Prof. Ian C.K. Wong at wongick@hku.hk or Dr. Eric Wan at yfwan@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.

The University only accepts online application for the above post. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V. together with at least three reference letters. Review of applications will start as soon as possible and continue until June 30, 2023 (extended to September 30, 2023), or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
