We have an expert opportunity in the School of Health and Related Research for an experienced Research Associate to join an existing team of researchers working on the multidisciplinary “Healthy soil, healthy food, healthy people” UKRI SPF funded project (https://h3.ac.uk/) focusing on the role of biofortified foods and health inequalities led Dr Sam Caton (WP4 lead, ScHARR, Section of Public Health) and Prof Peter Jackson (Principal Investigator of H3, Dept of Geography).

You will work directly on work package four “Biofortification and consumer acceptance,” led by Dr Sam Caton (ScHARR, Public health).

You will be heavily involved in participant recruitment, qualitative data collection and analysis. The appointed candidate will also be involved in carrying out a rapid scoping review, development of a programme theory, co-design activities for developing interventions with elderly adults, and preparing research outputs.

It is essential that you have some previous experience of conducting health or social research, and that you can demonstrate experience of preparing manuscripts for publication. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are needed as well as a proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, to work independently and to deliver work in a timely fashion.

You will have a PhD in a relevant field; due to the multidisciplinary nature of this project candidates from a wide variety of subject areas will be considered with relevant expertise such as (but not limited to) psychology, human nutrition, food science, plant science, plant nutrition, human geography. Experience of planning and undertaking qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis.
