About the Role
To participate in the academic undergraduate programmes offered by the Institute of Dentistry, with a focus on the Dental Hygiene/Therapy Programme, with the assistance of the other Dental Therapy/Hygiene teaching staff.
To contribute to the organization, delivery, and assessment of teaching of undergraduate students within the school.
To participate in the implementation and quality assurance of the education and training programmes for dental undergraduates.
To undertake such administrative, managerial, and other duties as are reasonably to be expected of a member of clinical academic staff, as agreed with the Programme Lead, Centre Lead and Dean for Dentistry.
To participate in the development of training strategies with the Programme Lead and Centre lead to meet the General Dental Council guidelines, and national initiatives.

This post is based within the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. The Institute is home to the top-rated UK Dental School for quality of dental research, as assessed in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) and is placed 1st in the UK for dentistry in the Complete University Guide 2015 and 1st in England and Wales in the Guardian University Guide 2015. In 2014 we opened the first new dental school and hospital in the UK for 40 years, the stunning £78m Royal London Dental Hospital, giving us the most technologically advanced dental facilities in the country.

The post is based at the Institute of Dentistry in Whitechapel. It is a 0.4 FTE, indefinite appointment. The salary will be based on an Academic Scale Grade 5.
