Do you have a background in human genomics/genetics with relevant experience in data analytics (statistical or computational)? Are you an enthusiastic teacher, committed to delivering a first class learning and teaching experience with the  ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate level? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience and furthering your career in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

We are looking to recruit an individual with a background in human genomics/genetics with relevant experience in data analytics (statistical or computational). You will play a key role in the development and delivery of the new portfolio of digital and blended modules and programmes in the Faculty of Biological Sciences/Faculty of Medicine & Health. The role will primarily involve supporting the development and delivery of courses for the University’s Online Distance Learning (ODL) MSc programme in Precision Medicine: Genomic Data Science and associated short courses and qualifications.

The programme is an evolution of the existing campus-based MSc Precision Medicine: Genomic Data Science, which trains students from the biological sciences and medicine, with little previous experience in statistics or data science, in the analysis of large-scale genomic data. You will play an integral role in the creation and delivery of sector-leading online learning and assessment materials, supported by one of the UK’s leading teams of experts in creating digital online resources: Leeds’ Digital Education Service.

For this role, you should have a PhD in human genomics or genetics, with relevant computational or statistical data analytics expertise, and evidence of delivering high quality teaching and providing support to students.

The University of Leeds and the Faculty of Biological Sciences are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offer a range of family friendly policies. The University is a charter member of Athena SWAN (the national body that promotes gender equality in higher education), and the Faculty of Biological Sciences was awarded a Silver award in 2020.  We are proud to be an inclusive Faculty that values all staff, and are happy to consider job share applications and requests for flexible working arrangements from our employees. Our Athena SWAN webpage provides more information.
