Do you have a strong grounding in data science, statistics or econometric methods? Do you have a good understanding of current NHS or social care policy? Are you a strong critical thinker, with excellent verbal and written communication skills?
The Nuffield Trust is looking for a creative and independent research analyst to undertake work on agreed research projects relating to health and social care services. You will ensure timely and high-quality delivery working within a team of project leads. You should have a strong interest in using data analytics to improve health and social care, with the ability to collaborate with others and potential to develop management and leadership skills.
In this role, you will be taking responsibility for small projects or parts of projects, including the research design, planning, development and delivery of research projects; working in collaboration with others within internal and external project teams.
We’d really like to meet you if you have:
- A postgraduate qualification in a subject (or equivalent experience in a role) relevant to health data science, statistics or econometrics.
- A broad knowledge of health and care datasets, with specific experience of analysis of record-level NHS data.
- Excellent skills in manipulating large and complex datasets using specialist database and analysis software (including programming expertise in R, and in other statistical packages such as SAS or STATA).
- The ability to gather, analyse, interpret, and synthesise complex information derived from policy documents and research studies.
- The ability to communicate complex issues for a variety of audiences.

Appointment at the level of Fellow is dependent on meeting the requirements of the role as advertised. An appointment at the level of Researcher (salary from £37,480) would be considered for a candidate who demonstrates sufficient potential.
