Full-Time, 35 hours per week

Fixed-Term (Temporary), for 2 years and 5 months

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral research scientist to join our Particle Research Team, based within the Centre for Inflammation Research.

The Opportunity:

The successful applicant will work within a vibrant and collaborative environment to undertake research designed to determine how air pollution exposures of pregnant women pass to the baby to affect organ development and poor health in childhood. 

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD or equivalent (or will be shortly awarded a PhD) in biological sciences.
  • Experience of in vivo work, ideally working with rodent models of pregnancy, birth and life-source exposure
  • Experience of a several biological assays for determining mechanisms, e.g. several of; dissection, histology, light or fluorescent microscopy, absorbance assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to function well independently and work within a team.
  • Have a creative spark to build on new data, explore and find new ways to improve on discovery and refinement of experimental techniques.
