Salary will be Grade 6/7, £32,332 – £36,024 / £39,347 – £44,263 per annum.

This post is full time and has funding for up to 15 months. 

We have an opportunity for a Research Assistant/Associate to make a leading contribution to the Immunobiology research area under the supervision of Professor Simon Milling, with Professor Konstantinos Gerasimidis. 

The applicant will make essential contributions to a research programme focused on understanding the immune mechanisms by which dietary therapy contributes to treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. 

The successful candidate will have extensive skills in investigating the immunology of the human intestine and have relevant experience relating to the project. They will be self-motivated in designing and executing experiments, with a proven track record in the analysis of complex data. 

For appointment at Grade 7, the successful candidate will require a Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 12 [PhD] in Immunology or a cognate discipline or alternatively possess the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience, with experience of personal development in a similar or related role[s].  We would also expect good team leadership skills including demonstrable supervisory skills.
