A great opportunity to join the Surrey Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Surrey as a Clinical Trial Manager/Monitor on a part-time, fixed-term basis.

Working on a Palliative Care Trial called CHELsea II, which is funded by NIHR HTA, this trial compares two different standards of care and the benefits & effects on end-of-life symptoms. The trial is the largest performed in this population and will involve 1600 patients across 80 sites within the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to travel & support palliative care teams in both hospital and hospice settings, as well as working and supporting the office-based team at the unit.

Role & Responsibilities:

Surrey Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is an academic trials unit that has experience, expertise & infrastructure to design, develop, organise and manage high quality multi-centre, randomised controlled trials. 

 We are looking for someone with: 

  • Previous experience within a CTU or equivalent clinical research environment 
  • Good working knowledge of clinical trial regulations including ICH-GCP 
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills 
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently, using initiative where appropriate. 
  • Willingness to travel around the UK to undertake monitoring visits. 

The Clinical Trial Manager/Monitor will report to the Clinical Project Manager and/or Lead Nurse and interact closely with the Trial Manager and other members of the CTU team.

The post is offered at 50% FTE and is a fixed-term contract for 12 months in the first instance.
