About the Role

This research post will be for a duration of 5 years funded through a Medical Research Council (MRC) grant. The postholder will be leading or supporting: (i) deep phenotyping of cardiovascular imaging and electrocardiogram (ECG) data in large datasets using ML/artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and (ii) bioinformatic experiments to unravel the genetic basis of cardiovascular diseases and to discover novel therapeutic targets.

About You

You will have a PhD in data science (e.g. computing, AI, biomedical engineering, statistical genomics) or related domain.

Excellent programming skills using generic platforms (e.g., Linux, Python, R) and experience in supervision of junior group members is a must.

Significant experience in AI or statistical genetics and research with peer-reviewed publications; and experience working with imaging or ECG datasets are a plus.

The William Harvey Research Institute is a world-leading institute for research devoted to therapeutic innovation in cardiovascular diseases. The main focus of Centre for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging is to apply statistical, multi-omics and machine learning approaches to national-scale imaging studies.

The post is based at Charterhouse square Campus, London. It is a full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 5 years with an expected start date of 16 October 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £40,223 to £44,722 pa inclusive of London Allowance.
