BASE TO BE DISCUSSED AT INTERVIEW

FIXED TERM CONTRACT (1.0FTE) FOR 12 MONTHS 

The Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society are seeking to appoint highly motivated individuals to support the development and expansion of the Outreach Skills Clinic for Assessment (OSCA). The 12-month fixed term roles are to support the implementation of an NHS England funded Targeted Practice Education Programme (TPEP)/Enabling Effective Learning Environments (EELE) Programme. The roles will support practice learning by leading and developing new and existing service provision and enhancing the offer of clinical skills training and practice learning opportunities across the Cheshire and Merseyside network for pre and post registrants as part of a successful TPEP and Social Care bid and expanding OSCA to social care settings, supporting registrants in the enhancement of clinical skills. 

You will be required to support the Director of Practice Learning and OSCA PEF lead to facilitate achievement of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Future nurse: Standards of proficiency for registered nurses (2018) and support a pilot of OSCA to a range of agreed disciplines such as Allied Healthcare Professionals and midwifery students. 

You will also be required to support the implementation, and delivery of the Outreach Skills Clinic for Assessment (OSCA) and Outreach Skills Clinic for Assessment for social care registrants (OSCA- Social) across several agreed sites within Cheshire and Merseyside using a range of simulated technology/equipment. You will support and enhance participants experiences of learning and assessment in practice whilst supporting learners to achieve a range of proficiencies and skills as required by their professional body. You will also support data collection and evaluation of OSCA from the perspectives of educators, participants, and learners. 

We are looking for individuals who are committed, and passionate about practice learning and assessment/learning using simulated technology/equipment. You will have knowledge and experience of the professional requirements of health and social care education programmes including assessment and supervision. 

You will hold current healthcare professional registration, i.e., NMC/HCPC, and possess excellent clinical and practice learning knowledge and skills, service evaluation and data collection skills, problem solving, communication and leadership skills. Experience of teaching clinical skills using simulation technology is desirable. 

The post will involve travel to a range of sites across the Cheshire and Merseyside practice network to deliver the Outreach Skills Clinic for Assessment to student nurses from all fields with the potential to deliver OSCA to a range of non-medical pre-registration professions and social care registrants. We have a comprehensive induction programme for new starters and a mentorship package to support you through your role.
