About the Role
The Health Economics and Policy Research Unit (HEPRU) is looking to recruit a Senior Health Economist. The post holder will join a team researching the economic aspects of health and disease; the costs and benefits of prevention, diagnosis and treatment; and the contribution and implications for health systems and health policy. S/he will lead and contribute to projects in one or more disease/policy areas involving initiating research proposals; developing/conducting health economic studies emanating from successful proposals; and broader methodological and strategic activities.
HEPRU is based in the Centre for Evaluation and Methods, Wolfson Institute of Population Health. The Institute brings together some of the UK’s leading researchers, practitioners and educators in a vibrant, multidisciplinary group with the aim of delivering world-leading research and education.
About You
An experienced post-doctoral health economist with evidence for high quality research and outputs and an ambition/ aptitude for an evaluative research career. In-depth knowledge of health economics methodology, strong analytical skills, and effective team-working and communication skills are essential.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time (part could be considered), fixed term appointment for 3 years in the first instance. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £52,549 – 58,595 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
