Summary

Are you interested in working for a world top 100 university? We have an exciting opportunity in the Information School at the University of Sheffield for an excellent Postdoctoral Researcher keen to develop their research interests in Chemoinformatics. You will join the Chemoinformatics Research Group headed by Prof Val Gillet. The group works in partnership with pharmaceutical and other chemical companies, as well as other academic departments in the University of Sheffield including the Department of Chemistry. The main areas of focus within the group are the development and evaluation of virtual screening methods including 2D and 3D similarity searching; applications of AI and machine learning in drug discovery; applications of knowledge graphs in drug discovery; and de novo design whereby novel compounds are designed to fit various constraints.

You will undertake research in chemoinformatics in one of the above areas in consultation and collaboration with Professor Val Gillet. You will also contribute to the Chemoinformatics group including helping the group to maintain its strong network of contacts and collaborators in Industry. You will also develop research articles for submission to international peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
