The School of Pharmacy is seeking to appoint an outstanding Assistant Professor in Primary Care Pharmacy to join our growing and vibrant School. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can contribute to the well-established educational excellence of the School, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. A particular focus would be on leading on undergraduate primary care placements and contributing to implementing our new MPharm curriculum.

The University of Birmingham School of Pharmacy has a collegial culture, and resides within the College of Medical and Dental Sciences facilitating interdisciplinary working with researchers and practitioners in Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedical Science, Nursing, and Physiotherapy. Our educational environment encourages collaboration with clinical colleagues, enabling inter-professional education and innovative teaching. You will be working with highly experienced academics who can support your career development.

The postholder will have a focus in either Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmacy Practice with a desire to further develop their teaching excellence. The post will involve participation in the design, development, delivery, and leadership of a range of programmes of study with a focus on the principles of Clinical Pharmacy relevant to undergraduate pharmacy, postgraduate education, or CPD delivery. This will involve a wide range of subjects relevant to the practice of pharmacy or clinical applications of pharmacy. Our MPharm programme is a well-regarded undergraduate programme, with around 600 students across the four years.  The postholder will be expected to work as a primary care clinical pharmacist for a minimum of 0.2 FTE per week as part of this 0.8 FTE role role, with one of our primary care placement providers: Our Health Partnership.  This is an excellent opportunity to maintain and develop clinical skills working in the Harborne and Quinton Primary Care Network as part of a large pharmacy team.

Scholarship aligned to the core research themes of the College and/or School would be advantageous.
