The Law School at Durham University seeks to appoint a talented individual to the role of Assistant Professor in Medical Law. We welcome applications from those with research and teaching interests in the broad field of medical law and we are particularly eager to hear from applicants with a focus on one or more of the following areas: mental health law, artificial intelligence and medicine, clinical negligence, or disability law.

This post is linked to research activities associated with Durham CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences), which is a vibrant research centre supporting excellence in research, innovative teaching and public dialogue on the ethical, social and regulatory issues raised by the life sciences (www.durham.ac.uk/research/institutes-and-centres/ethics-law-life-sciences).

This post is also linked more generally to the Law School’s vision in terms of both research and teaching, in particular to development of the LLM in Medical Law and Ethics (www.durham.ac.uk/study/courses/m1kh16).

This post offers an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the development of internationally excellent research and teaching while allowing you unrivalled opportunities to progress and embed your career in an exciting and progressive institution.
