Research Assistant in Virology at University of Leeds

The Whitehouse research group is seeking a highly motivated research assistant to investigate how the human tumour virus, Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), manipulates host cell pathways to enhance its own replication. The project will use a range of molecular, cell biology and cell imaging approaches to highlight novel KSHV-mediated mechanisms to regulate viral gene expression.

For this role, you should have a first degree/Masters in Molecular Cell Biology/Virology or a closely allied discipline. You should also have experience in Transmission Electron Microscopy and confocal imaging techniques (FISH and FRAP), and experience in a wide range of RNA-based techniques and replication complex/organelle purification.
