We are looking for an experienced academic leader to join us on a permanent basis as the Head of Discipline for the Discipline of Associate and Enhanced Healthcare Practice.

This key post has overall responsibility for the success of the Associate and Enhanced Healthcare Practice discipline area, and they will work closely with the Head of School and other leaders across the College to deliver and outstanding student experience. The postholder will also contribute to the wider leadership of the College and University to support and develop the work of staff, students, and partners.

The postholder will have a strong clinical and educational background as well as a track record of successful academic leadership. They will have devolved responsibility from the Head of School for the line management of staff in the Discipline and for maximizing people potential and engagement across the full range of academic activities by providing strong leadership that is both supportive and challenging. They will work closely with a range of colleagues to ensure teaching excellence and to maximise student success and experience.

They will lead high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in all its forms and develop scholarship and research in the Discipline area. The successful postholder will lead by example through active engagement with teaching, research, and scholarship. In addition, they will initiate and encourage activity in professional and practice learning partner engagement to enhance academic enterprise, undertaking sector horizon scanning and benchmarking performance against competitors and identifying other opportunities.

The post holder will be innovative and creative in their role and will lead the quality enhancement of healthcare education. We are looking for a transformational individual who genuinely enjoys making a positive impact on students and service users.
