The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice. 

This post is for a full time Research Fellow to work on the IMPLEMENT-CVD study. IMPLEMENT-CVD is funded by UKRI and is a partnership with KEMRI-Wellcome Trust in Nairobi, Kenya.

Your primary role will be to lead the design and oversight of the feasibility trial. This will include protocol development and collection and analysis of process indicators of feasibility and acceptability, effectiveness, resource use and costs. It will also involve co-ordination with team members conducting qualitative interviews with relevant stakeholders. You will be expected to lead and contribute to outputs from the study, to travel to Kenya, and to support the Research Associate based at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust. You will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree in a relevant topic as well as relevant experience in conducting clinical trials, including protocol development and obtaining ethical approval. Some experience of contributing to research grant applications is desirable. 

The post is full-time and fixed-term until 31 March 2025, 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE. The post is funded by UKRI and is available from 1 August 2023.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathways salary scale Grade 6, point 32 at £42,875 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. . In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
