About the Role
We are seeking a research assistant to act as a researcher and coordinator for our new role as the academic partner for the London Violence Reduction Academy (VRA (https://londonviolencereduction.nhs.uk/the-violence-reduction-academy/), a collaborative organization supported by NHS England.
The postholder will be responsible for engagement with research, specifically rapid evidence reviews, maintenance of stakeholder committees, and coordinating messaging and findings from a variety of research projects that will be under the remit of the Academy. This role also entails significant administrative, managerial and communications responsibilities.
About You
You will have a postgraduate education in a subject area relevant to applied medical or social science, experience with conducting literature reviews and preparing research reports; and will have strong organizational skills. The postholder will have excellent communication skills, especially in translating the results of complex research projects for multiple, non-professional stakeholders.

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognized Centre of excellence in population health and preventive medicine.
The Centre for Psychiatry & Mental Health at WIPH (https://www.qmul.ac.uk/wiph/centres/centre-for-psychiatry-and-mental-health/) has a focus on academic discipline, research, the translation of research into public health strategies and their practical implementation – all dedicated to the reduction of disease and disability in mental health.

The post is based at Whitechapel Campus in London. The post is part-time at 0.5 FTE and is for 18 months initially. Salary will be £36,572 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
