About the Role:

The Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine & Social Care is the largest faculty in the university and constantly pursues innovative approaches to develop and deliver curricula to meet the ever-changing educational needs of the Health and Social Care workforce. Our faculty offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, from foundation degrees to doctoral study.

Our provision in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Cambridgeshire includes a variety of pre-registration nursing courses and nursing apprenticeships. Our dynamic approach ensures that our students are well supported and receive a high quality, evidence-informed, educational experience, and a sound knowledge of key concepts is essential. We have a number of world-leading nursing and healthcare researchers in our Faculty, and are seeking to further develop and support research, innovation and knowledge exchange across the School. 

We are recruiting for a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation at our Cambridge campus. This post will include planning and managing learning and teaching for both pre/post registration nursing students, facilitating online and face to face teaching (including simulated clinical skills), acting as an academic assessor for NMC approved courses, link activity to support practice-based learning, as well as contributing to the research, innovation, and knowledge exchange activities of the School and wider Faculty.

With a Master’s degree or first degree with significant clinical experience and ongoing evidence of CPD, you will also hold a current registration with the UK NMC as an adult/child/mental health nurse. You will have extensive experience of contemporary clinical practice and or clinical education, excellent written and oral communication skills, be IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to think innovatively and be able to meet deadlines. You will contribute to curriculum development and work co-operatively and as part of a team. With an enthusiastic and flexible approach and good interpersonal and negotiating skills, and demonstrate commitment to our values with a willingness to contribute to the collective life of the Faculty.
