Full Time Fixed Term until 30/09/2024
Closing Date: Wednesday 13 September 2023
Interview Date: To be confirmed
We have an exciting opportunity for a quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods researcher with an interest in respiratory conditions to join one of the UK’s leading Primary Care Research Centres within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton.
The work will involve scoping the literature on biomarker-guided self-management interventions for patients with asthma and setting up and conducting feasibility work to evaluate selected interventions in the community. There will also be opportunities to contribute to data collection, analysis and interpretation as part of the NIHR-funded DEFINE programme (www.define-study.com) and to preparation of funding applications for clinical trials evaluating different interventions.
You will be educated to postgraduate degree level and have experience of conducting quantitative and/or qualitative research in patients with respiratory conditions. You will also have experience of contributing to grant applications. You will have demonstrated your ability to work independently and efficiently in a research context and will have excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail.
The post is fixed term and will be offered full time (1.0fte) for 12 months from October 2023 or shortly thereafter.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Professor Kay Wang (kay.wang@soton.ac.uk).
