Postdoctoral Scientist – PNAC – Dr Patrycja Kozik

Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Scientist positions in the Group of Dr Patrycja Kozik at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). The overall goal of the group is to dissect the molecular mechanisms involved in the initiation of immune responses by dendritic cells (Science (2023) 1258-1265 / Cell Reports (2020) 107905). 

Project One

The goal of the project will be to characterise how different dendritic cells functions contribute to immune responses in vivo. As the successful candidate you should have a PhD degree in immunology or be due to complete your doctoral studies within 6 months. You should have experience using mouse models to study immune responses during vaccination, against tumours and/or against pathogens. 

Project Two

The goal of the project is to understand how dendritic cells control the fate of naive T cells. As the successful candidate you should have a PhD in biological subject (ideally cell biology, molecular biology or immunology) or be due to complete your doctoral studies within 6 months of applying. You should have good understanding of dendritic cell or T cell biology and experience with in vitro assays to study dendritic cell and/or T cell functions. Practical experience in proteomics or RNAseq will be considered a bonus. 

These are training and development positions suitable if you have recently completed your doctoral studies, or you are looking to move into a new research discipline and/or need to further develop your research skills.
