Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Professor of Adult Psychiatry/Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist within UCD School of Medicine.

The University and Hospital wish to expand academic leadership in psychiatry by attracting an outstanding clinician scientist with an internationally competitive profile in research, training and education. The appointee will join Ireland’s largest university at the country’s leading academic teaching hospital.

Both parties are committed to building collaborative programmes involving the community of academic and clinical staff to establish an internationally recognised clinical centre of excellence in psychiatry that enhances the quality of care for Irish patients.

The UCD Professor of Adult Psychiatry will be based at St Vincent’s University Hospital, where they will be an academic leader working with colleagues to oversee the design, delivery, assessment and quality of modules and programmes for undergraduate and graduate students. They will be an experience clinical leader who will contribute to the development of a high quality, evidence-based psychiatry clinical services at the Hospital and across the island.

Public Only Consultants’ Contract 2023
Salary scale at the first point in scale or in line with current Government pay policy and commensurate with experience.
