School of Psychology

Interview Date: Week commencing 2nd October 

The School of Psychology is seeking to make a strategic appointment to engage in internationally leading child and adolescent mental health research in the project “Personalising the pharmacological treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children” (PI: Prof Samuele Cortese). The position will be a full time fixed term appointment until 30/11/2028.

You will have completed a PhD in a topic related to mental health.

Our School has expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry, developmental and applied psychopathology, and psychological interventions across the lifespan. Colleagues are recognised for producing world-leading, high-impact research, supported by excellent research facilities (REF2021). These include purpose-built laboratories for social interaction and behavioral observation, therapeutic intervention, child/family studies, neuropsychological/cognitive testing, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), neurostimulation (TMS/tDCS), psychophysiology, eye-tracking, virtual reality, and psychopharmacology. 

We have collaborations with University research groups in Medicine (Psychiatry, Primary Care), Biological Sciences (Neuroscience), Health Sciences, Computer Sciences and Social Sciences. The Institute for Life Sciences supports further cross-disciplinary collaboration. Our partnerships with NHS Trusts, schools, Government, charities and industry deliver world leading impact (REF2021) and attract significant grant income from all major research funders.
