Location: University Park

The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a post doctoral researcher to the Nottingham Plague Research Group working in the area of bacterial molecular genetics, virulence and soil/environmental survival.

Applicants must have a proven track record in bacteriology and molecular genetics with a focus on pathogens and their virulence. Ideally, the candidate will be experienced working with Yersinia spp, have experience at containment level 2 and 3 and will be able to evidence the necessary skills and attention to detail required to work under these conditions.

The role holder will have the opportunity to use their initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend their research portfolio.

A PhD (or close to completion) is essential and a Masters Degree, or equivalent in relevant subject area is desirable. Applications from experienced post doctoral researchers are welcomed.

This is a full time (36.25 hour) fixed term post until 30th November 2025. Job share arrangements may be considered.
