The role

We are seeking to appoint a talented information scientist interested in systematic reviewing and evidence synthesis in applied health research to work in Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC) to support and strengthen the existing and growing evidence synthesis team.

What will you be doing?

To support CAPC staff to:

  • Develop search strategies for their systematic review projects.
  • Adapt their search strategies across a range of databases and resources.
  • Carry out scoping searches to estimate the scale of potential systematic reviews.
  • Carry out scoping searches for potential grant applications.
  • Help develop expertise in information retrieval skills in relevant CAPC staff.
  • Support Bristol SPCR ESWG funded reviews.

You should apply if

You have:

Good undergraduate degree (1st or 2.1) in a relevant discipline including Information Science, Social Science, Science, or a health related topic. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Information Science, Library Science or Data Science.

Additional information

Contract type: Open-ended with fixed funding until 31/08/2025

Work pattern: Part time/ 0.4 FFE / 40% time

Grade: J/Pathway 2

Salary: £41,732-46,974 per annum pro rata

School/Unit: Bristol Medical School

Shift pattern: 14 hours per week
