The School of Medicine wishes to appoint a non-clinical Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Medical Humanities. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering interdisciplinary teaching within the humanities and be capable of integrating this within medical education and practice across the range of undergraduate medical programmes offered within the School.

Applications are encouraged from candidates with relevant undergraduate and PhD experience within the field of humanities, including cognate disciplines (e.g. social science).

The successful candidate will be confident in delivery of their subject-specific teaching as well as being developing opportunities to integrate their speciality across already embedded curricular strands (e.g. ethics & law, public health, research skills). They will be able or willing to work across specialties to enhance the clinical experience and preparedness for practice in medical students (e.g. via enhancement of communication skills, professionalism, wellbeing). They will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver high quality teaching and be flexible in the mode of delivery (e.g. lectures, case-based, practicals, self-guided, as well as both synchronous and asynchronous teaching across digital platforms). They will be able to develop appropriate assessments and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation students related to their areas of expertise.

Experience in administrative management and/or academic development of modules, courses or programmes is also desirable. Employees of the University have access to a wide range of staff benefits including:
