Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Associate Professor of Surgery/Locum Consultant Surgeon within UCD School of Medicine
University College Dublin and St Vincent’s University Hospital wish to expand their academic and clinical leadership in surgery by appointing a Locum Consultant & Associate Professor in Surgery. The appointee will join Ireland’s largest university at one of the country’s leading hospitals which is both a busy adult teaching hospital and a national tertiary referral centre.
Both organisations are committed to building on a long-standing partnership to deliver high quality patient care services, to advance research which leads to a better understanding of relevant diseases and to create the next generation of clinicians by training medical students in surgery.
The UCD Associate Professor of Surgery will be based at St Vincent’s University Hospital, where s/he will work with colleagues to deliver clinical care and academic programmes. They will contribute to the state-of-the-art surgical services at the Hospital and academic teaching and research programmes of the University.
This is an academic consultant appointment and a senior clinical leadership role. University appointments are made subject to defined academic benchmarks and hence UCD reserves the right to appoint at the most appropriate academic rank
