The University has a distinctive, employability-focused educational offer and works closely with employers to address the skills needs of today’s workforce. Applications are invited for the following post:

Associate Professor (Professional Practice) – Practice Education Lead in Nursing

Hours of work: Full-time (1.0fte)

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: The starting salary will be from £56,021 up to £64,914 per annum in Grade 9, depending on qualifications and experience.

Leeds Trinity University has embarked on the development of a range of Nursing, Allied Health Professions and Life Sciences programmes to support local, regional and national workforce demands. We have developed BSc (Hons.) Nursing programmes in Adult, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities fields which are approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. These commence January 2024 with the intention to further grow the nursing portfolio, including apprenticeship routes, postgraduate provision and CPD. This is an exciting time for Leeds Trinity University and this role will play a key part in the developments in our health portfolio.

As such, we have an exciting opportunity to lead the practice learning of our nursing provision and develop and sustain partnerships with external stakeholders. Located within the growing School of Health & Life Sciences in the Faculty of Health, Wellness and Life Sciences this post will form part of the leadership team for the school.

This role will require you to develop strategic relationships with our practice partners across NHS, private, independent and voluntary organisations and social care. You will work closely with stakeholders across the region, to lead on practice education and engagement. If you have the leadership skills needed to provide strategic direction in practice education and to devise operational plans to meet our innovation and growth objectives we would love to hear from you. We are looking for an individual who has the skills to seek out collaborative opportunities and influence placement capacity solutions. Central to the role is someone with the passion needed to ensure our students experience outstanding practice education opportunities.

The university has made significant investment in the specialist estate and equipment for the health and life sciences programmes, and we have added to our well-equipped sport therapy and exercise science laboratories, by creating a bespoke health building, with a technology-enabled community flat and clinical skills spaces. The estate will continue to grow, and you will be central in shaping it.

We are looking for a Nursing and Midwifery Council registrant who is an experienced practitioner and educator. You will have substantial experience of practice learning innovations such as simulation, with expertise in curriculum development, approval and delivery, and be able to work closely and effectively with senior partners in Health and Care, regionally and beyond.

You will have, or be willing to undertake, a recognised teaching qualification (i.e., PGCHEP/PGCAP) as well as Senior Fellowship of Advance HE.  You will also have a Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area and preferably having completed or soon to be submitted PhD (or equivalent qualification or practice-based experience/qualification).

Please note that this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
