An Aussie teenager has been caught on CCTV stealing Viagra pills from a pharmacy in Bali, before boasting about “running amok” on the island.
Kane Bailey, 19, and a friend walked into the pharmacy in North Bali at 6:24pm on September 16 and began asking the shop assistant about the medication.
The worker handed over a box of Viagra for the shirtless pair to look at. They then returned the box, asking about an alternative.
But while the worker wasn’t looking, Bailey could be seen slipping a sheet of pills into the pocket of his shorts. The two then left the store.
Staff later discovered four pills had been stolen.
The CCTV footage was circulated by authorities, who chased down the two Aussies to their villa in the Bumbak district of North Kuta on Monday night.
The two mates were taken to the police station and questioned.
North Kuta Police Crimes Unit Chief Komang Juniawan told local media the pharmacy did not file a police report and instead the pharmacy and Bailey reached an “amicable resolution”.
Bailey reportedly apologised to the pharmacy staff, signed a peace deal with the pharmacy and agreed to reimburse the business IDR740,000 – equal to $A74.
The Melbourne teenager recently shared a photo alongside friends – including NRL player Jayden Sullivan – to Instagram at the popular Finn’s Beach Club in Bali.
The picture, obtained by PerthNow was captioned: “Just a couple boys running amok …#sent” (sic).
Bailey reportedly flew back to Australia the day after police apprehended him.
Viagra, also known as Sildenafil, is a popular prescription drug that helps men get erections.
The medication is typically taken by males with erectile dysfunction, however, increasingly younger men without this issue are taking it recreationally as a sexual enhancement.
PerthNow has reached out to Kane Bailey for comment.
