Jess Dutton (BA Hons [Political Studies], Queen’s University, 1994; MPA, Queen’s University, 1995) joined Foreign Affairs Canada in 2005. At Headquarters, he has worked as the director of federal-provincial-territorial relations and deputy head of the Stabilization and Reconstruction Task Force. Abroad, he has served at the Embassy to the Republic of Korea and in 2 postings in Afghanistan: one as the director of the Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team and the other as deputy head of mission in Kabul. He has also served as the deputy high commissioner in India and as Canada’s ambassador to Egypt. Most recently, he was the director general of the Middle East Bureau.
