The Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge are looking for a Chief Laboratory Teaching Technician to support our veterinary preclinical teaching. This role is central to the provision of teaching for future veterinary clinicians.
You will be the senior technician coordinating the provision of key teaching facilities and resources to first and second year students studying the Veterinary Sciences course, including anatomy and reproductive biology. The role involves the management of five rooms the largest of which is a veterinary dissection room, the preparation of teaching facilities, the acquisition, preparation and preservation of teaching materials, health and safety, as well as contributing to the administration of timetabling, assessment and attendance records.
The successful candidate will have practical experience of laboratory work or post mortem activity and equipment. They will have excellent communication and people management skills and have good attention to detail. The role holder will have an interest in, and a commitment to, veterinary scientific training.

The salary range for this job is £28,929 – £33,308. However, for exceptional candidates who demonstrate they have all relevant knowledge, skills and experience at interview, the upper salary range may be extended to £38,474.
