About the role
We are looking for a Clinical Research Fellow to join the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences to work on proposed PhD research projects. Examples of these will include ‘the development and testing of a shared decision-making tool in people with ischaemic heart disease considering PCI or CABG’ and ‘the identification and validation of coagulopathy phenotypes in people with severe bleeding following cardiac surgery’. More information can be sourced from the downloadable job summary form.
In this role you will be primarily responsible for the development and implementation of a training needs assessment and training plan, and will work on the delivery of an agreed PhD project plan and the submission of a PhD thesis. You will also attend relevant training modules, deliver occasional lectures and small group teachings, and be exposed to regular clinical sessions to both maintain and establish your existing skills.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role will be seeking to progress a clinical academic career in cardiovascular disease or critical care medicine. You will hold an MB BS or equivalent, a license to practice and a full GMC registration. Previous research experience would be beneficial, as would understanding and knowledge of statistics and statistical software.
