The Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences seeks an enthusiastic Clinical Research Fellow for the opportunity to develop their expertise in Motor Neurone Disease (MND, also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS, and the related disorder frontotemporal dementia, FTD) through their engagement with an established internationally-leading programme of neuroscience research led by Professor Kevin Talbot, Professor Martin Turner and Dr Alexander Thompson. The post will be ideal for a clinical neurologist wishing to develop expertise in running a research focused MND clinical service.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform clinical assessments and procedures, including participation in biosample collection for patient-based studies in the group.
- Assist with data collection and entry
- Preparation of relevant publications and presentations
- Contribution of ideas for new research projects
- Representing the research group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone
It is essential that the post-holder has a medical degree and full GMC registration. It is desirable that the post-holder has some previous experience of original research.
This post is full time and fixed term until 31st March 2026.
