To support our core activities, we are looking for an individual with excellent skills and the capability to help us implement our School education strategy toward the education and growth of the next generation of dental professionals in Wales.  The appointee will enhance teaching in the field of restorative dentistry with special emphasis on endodontology across both the dental postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.  If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a centre with access to a full range of support facilities, building on our existing educational repertoire and with an aspiration for programme development in the postgraduate arena, we would like to hear from you.  We will work with you to create opportunities to link with our research groups, develop innovative teaching, or pursue other related aspirations.  This appointment is offered at Clinical Senior Lecturer level. The appointee is expected to deliver high-quality research-led teaching at both postgraduate and undergraduate level.  This exciting post will support staff to pursue excellence in teaching, scholarship activities relating to restorative dentistry and endodontology.

The successful candidate will be awarded an honorary contract by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board at the appropriate level.

The post holder will be based at the University Dental Hospital, Heath Park Campus, Cardiff.

This post is full time (37.5 hours per week), open-ended and available from 1 September 2023.

Salary: £87,354 – £113,408 per annum (Clinical Grade D6).  This position provides eligibility for clinical commitment awards.  These are awarded automatically in the absence of an unsatisfactory job plan review once a Consultant has reached top of scale and then at 3 yearly intervals thereafter to a maximum of £140,080 (current basic pay plus top commitment award).

Cardiff University offers many excellent benefits, including 45 days annual leave (including bank holidays), local pension scheme, a cycle to work scheme and other travel initiatives, annual increments within the pay scale, and more.  It is an exciting and vibrant place to work, with many different challenges and is a proud Living Wage supporter.

Closing date: Sunday, 30 July 2023

Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment.  We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds.  We therefore welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of sex, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, trans identity, relationship status, religion or belief, caring responsibilities, or age.  In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
