This post is co-ordinate the Multicentre DNA Lacunar 2 stroke project. DNA lacunar 2 recruits patients with MRI confirmed lacunar stroke from about 50 centres throughout the UK. The aim is to collect a well phenotyped cohort whose DNA samples can be used to identify genes underlying lacunar stroke. Lacunar stroke is caused by cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) which causes a quarter of all strokes and is the major cause of vascular cognitive impairment.

The post holder will work in the central co-ordinating office in Cambridge. The role will include co-ordination of all aspects of the study including liaising with recruiting centres, tracking and encouraging recruitment, processing information received from centres, and entering data into and maintaining study databases.

This post will be based in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge within the internationally renown stroke research team and the clinical stroke service) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills and with experience of co-ordinating human large scale clinical trials or large scale clinical studies.
