Have you ever considered working in Student Health?
Working with young adults is a rewarding and fascinating experience, with the opportunity to develop new knowledge & skills in managing complex mental health, eating disorders, gender dysphoria, complex contraception presentations and sexual health. If you are interested in making a difference to young people and would like to help our patients manage their health and wellbeing to allow them to succeed academically and beyond, then we have the ideal post for you.
We have a job opportunity for an Associate GP (similar to a Salaried GP) on a 12-month fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave, offering clinical sessions and with the potential for some clinical leadership work.
There is dedicated time for administrative tasks and no home visits. We offer a mix of face to face and telephone consultations, and we can offer flexibility in the number of sessions and days worked. There is in-house training, funding for PDP, and opportunities to develop in new areas.
We are a supportive friendly group that has lunch and coffee together most days and meets up once a fortnight for a clinical governance meeting.
Come and meet us! We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a great clinical team to provide excellent patient care to young people. We would love to show you round the practice and introduce you to the unique & rewarding world of student health. We are based in a large modern building near Sheffield Student Union. We are part of the university and therefore benefit from the University of Sheffield terms and conditions.
- 15-minute appointments as standard.
- If home visits are undertaken (very rare), appropriate time is given.
- No care homes linked to surgery.
- Great social opportunities with away days and monthly bring and share lunches.
- Very supportive and dynamic team.
- Protected administration time.
- Study leave for training courses and development.
- 30 days annual leave, plus additional closure days and bank holidays.
- Various rewards and benefits through the university ‘The Deal’.
- Regular clinical governance, practice learning events and educational sessions.
