The University is currently looking for a committed, and enthusiastic Clinical Skills Assistant Technician to help provide dedicated, high quality, technical support in the Clinical Skills and Simulation Rooms for the Institute of Health & Social Care. The institute comprises of 2 Schools, the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Allied Health and Social Care.

Exciting work you will do
The clinical skills and simulation skills rooms are maintained by a dedicated team of technicians who support students and staff in use of specialist equipment and related processes.
As an integral member of this team, you will facilitate practical sessions and work closely with colleagues to ensure that the environments and technical equipment run smoothly.
This is a highly specialised field with expertise frequently gained through in-role training. As a valued member of our team, we will provide the opportunities for you to develop your experience, knowledge and understanding of the wide range of systems, processes, and techniques that an essential part of working in this environment.
The skills and experience you will need to be successful
You should have either a ND, HND or an equivalent in a healthcare related discipline, or professional experience of working in a technical support / commercial environment.
You will be able to demonstrate your effectiveness as a problem solver, who is able to take on board unfamiliar information and apply it to the open-ended challenges frequently encountered in technical environments.
You will be an effective communicator, the ability to coherently convey technical information and be able to demonstrate a considered approach to customer service.
Details about the role
This is a full-time campus-based role. You will be based at the Southwark Campus but will occasionally have to work at the Croydon and Havering Campus’. The working week will be 35 hours, Monday to Friday; flexibly between 8:00am to 6:00pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day. Please note that due to the nature of the role start/finish may vary (as indicated above).
