Our Translational Immunology Group (TIG) in University of Liverpool is renowned for its leading role in cancer immunotherapy and the tumour microenvironment. We have a technical position available to support the translational and basic research in our group.
You will be based in the Liverpool Head and Neck Centre at William Henry Duncan building, within the Department of Molecular and Clinical Cancer medicine. You will join our group of PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and clinical fellows. You will support our work in assessment of tumour protein expression by multiplexed immunohistochemistry. This will include conjugation of antibodies, running protein gels and quantification of protein. You will also contribute to the downstream digital image analysis using software such as Qupath.
You will also support our pre-clinical programme of research where needed. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with previous laboratory experience preferably with a background in immunology. Previous experience of immunohistochemistry and image data analysis would be beneficial. You should have a BTEC Higher Level (or equivalent) and it would be desirable to hold a degree in biological/biomedical sciences.
Good attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are essential skills for this role.
The proposed starting date is 1 October 2023, but can be negotiated to suit the successful candidate.
The post is available on a fixed term basis until 30 September 2024.
