Ossian is a small-scale, highly successful health economics consultancy based in Basel, Switzerland. The Position
We are looking for a full-time Junior Health Economist to join our team. The position offers a stimulating, varied and rewarding environment where you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in many different aspects of our business. As part of our team, you will:
- Prepare and publish literature reviews and research manuscripts in medical/health economic journals, as well as abstracts, posters and presentations for international congresses
- Develop models and perform different types of health economic analyses
- Learn to effectively communicate value of our clients’ products and prepare global value dossiers and other documents for reimbursement submission
- Drive creative side projects to enhance personal development and/or generate new business opportunities
Qualifications
We are looking for graduate or post-graduate candidates qualified in Biological, Medical or Life Sciences, Health Economics, Economics or Statistics:
- BA/BSc in a Biological or Biomedical Science, Health Economics or a related discipline is essential (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)
- A post-graduate qualification in a related discipline would be advantageous (but not essential)
Skill Set
To thrive at Ossian, you should have the following skills:
- High level of literacy, with the ability to appraise evidence critically and write reports in clear, concise language
- High level of numeracy and analytic skills, ideally with evidence of application of these skills in a work or academic setting
- Competence in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and an interest in learning relevant modeling and statistical packages
- Good understanding of and an interest in healthcare
- Keen attention to detail
We are looking for candidates with these personal attributes:
- Willingness to meet the high standards of the company and our clients
- Ability to build strong working relationships with co-workers and external clients
- Drive to learn new techniques and explore new therapeutic areas
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) with a high standard of written scientific English
