Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice (Independent Prescribing) (0.6 FTE 1-year fixed term)

The University of Bradford School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a 0.6 FTE Lecturer or Assistant Professor in Pharmacy Practice (depending on experience) on a 1-year fixed term basis, to strengthen our sector-leading teaching of Clinical Pharmacy at the postgraduate level. The key objective of this postholder will be to lead the evaluation of a pilot model of independent prescribing training pathway for (pre-registration) Foundation Trainee Pharmacists. This will include assessing the views of both Foundation Trainees Pharmacists, their Designated Prescribing Practitioners, and their employers.

The post holder will need to have experience of designing and implementing a research project, as well as collecting, analysing and reporting results, in a format suitable for publication.  For the Assistant Professor role you should also have experience of working in healthcare and an understanding of the pharmacy profession.

You will join a truly innovative School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, with a suite of postgraduate programmes, a fully integrated MPharm based on Team-Based Learning and excellence in research. You will be an experienced and enthusiastic researcher and take a proactive role in developing an evaluation plan alongside our highly experienced and supportive team.  An independent prescribing qualification is an advantage.

The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in teaching and research activities in the School. The University of Bradford, and the School of Pharmacy celebrates diversity and encourages applications from under-represented groups.

Starting salary is dependent on experience and qualifications and the grade of the post. This is a part time position; 0.6 FTE 1 year fixed-term
