Applications are invited for a temporary part-time post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Psychotherapy within UCD School of Medicine

The UCD School of Medicine has an international reputation as a centre of excellence in the domain of psychotherapy. The School of Medicine offers an extensive portfolio of graduate opportunities at Higher Diploma, Graduate Diploma, Masters, and Doctoral level across the major modalities of psychotherapy, namely, Child Art Psychotherapy, Group Analytic Psychotherapy, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and Systemic Psychotherapy. Lecturers are experienced clinicians with considerable academic expertise in their own specific modality of psychotherapy.
There is professional body recognition in place for three of the modalities of psychotherapy relating to the UCD Masters programmes: Group Analytic Psychotherapy, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and Systemic Psychotherapy, and work in progress to achieve professional body recognition for the fourth: Child Art Psychotherapy. These Masters programmes are clinical training programmes and preparation is underway for engagement with CORU, the Health and Social Care Professions Regulator, who in 2019 appointed a Counsellors and Psychotherapists Registration Board, under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (amended) to regulate the professions of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (Above the Bar) Salary Scale: €59,370 – €94,015 pro rata
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on 12th September 2023
