  • This role is to oversee the planning and delivery of the regional training days for the KSS geriatric medicine SpR rotation. You would take a proactive and strategic role in the promotion and development of Education in Geriatric Medicine for trainees within the HST programme in Geriatric Medicine. You will work with bright and engaging trainees; overseeing their training will help further your knowledge and skills. The time for this role would enable you to attend the monthly training days, an annual 2 day residential training day and the STC.
  • The role requires teaching beyond the clinical aspects of work, including on education, research, leadership and management issues, to a level that the trainees are not required to attend external courses. Adequate knowledge and skills are required to deliver this, such as around education and change management theory. We also encourage and support broadening of education in geriatric medicine beyond our immediate trainees, such as through the use of technology enhanced learning.

Please contact Professor Nik Patel, Head of School of Medicine, Nik.Patel@hee.nhs.uk or g.ferns@bsms.ac.uk for informal enquiries.
