Salary: Lecturer: £44,414 – £54,421 per annum

Senior Lecturer: £56,048 – £64,946 per annum

The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (SMDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Lecturer (Education)/Senior Lecturer (Education) in Simulation.

This post will strengthen and enhance simulation-based education in SMDBS and across the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Life Sciences, maximising the opportunities provided in the KN Cheung SK Chin InterSim Centre, our new state-of-the-art Clinical Skills Teaching facility.

The appointee will undertake significant teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; contribute to the design, organisation and delivery of simulation-based teaching activities; engage in scholarly activity; train staff, and affiliated teachers, in the techniques of effective simulation-based education and contribute to administration/outreach activity.

For Lecturer (Education), the successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • Primary Healthcare Profession Degree or equivalent.
  • Higher degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant subject area plus current registration with professional healthcare regulator OR PhD or other doctoral degree in relevant subject area.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity eg. record of academic outputs commensurate with stage of career, conference papers, external funding, book reviews etc.
  • Collaboration in and/or support of projects in simulation related activities.
  • Simulation-based teaching experience at University level.
  • Evidence of good teaching evaluations.
  • Experience of contribution to broader management and administrative processes.
  • Experience of contributing to community/outreach activities.
