About the Role

The Lecturer will contribute to the intellectual life of the Centre for Cell Biology and Cutaneous Research in the Blizard Institute (and the wider institution) within the research field of epithelial homeostasis including metabolism and immune-epithelial cross-talk with a focus on cutaneous disease including cancer. They will make contributions to student education and experience through teaching activities in the subject areas of Regenerative Medicine and/or Cancer Therapeutics.

About You

Applicants will have a PhD and postdoctoral research experience in Cell Metabolism, Cancer Cell Biology, Cell Signaling) or a related discipline. They will have a proven track record of high-quality research in cell metabolism, microscopy, and transcriptomics with clear and ambitious plans for future research. They will have some experience in laboratory supervision and training.

About the Institute

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c700 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The post is based at the Whitechapel campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment with an expected start date of August 2023. The starting salary will be grade 5 to 6 in the range of £47,178 – £58,595 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
