The School of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic team player to the position of Lecturer in Computational Chemistry on a Specified Purpose Wholetime basis for up to three years. 

The candidate will be an expert in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry and have a strong background in applying computational methods/data analytics/machine learning in fields such as material chemistry, drug design, molecular simulation/docking/modelling.  The appointee will lead the School in developing and implementing innovative curriculum content, pedagogies and assessments in the area of computational chemistry.  The appointee will contribute strongly to teaching and assessment particularly at undergraduate level throughout the School and will play a key role in programme quality assurance, management, administration. Candidates should have a proven track record of research and scholarly activities, specifically in Computational Chemistry to support the research and scholarly activities of the School.

An industry background and familiarisation with modern teaching methods including on-line teaching and assessment would be advantageous. Engagement with industry, community and/or professional bodies is desirable. The successful candidate will be required to be flexible and work on their own initiative as well as contributing to a team of professionals. The candidate should have the ability to network with colleagues and other stakeholders and have excellent communication skills both oral and written.  Communication with students is particularly important.
