At Teesside University, we are ambitious in our goals, vision and aspirations. We challenge expectations and push the boundaries of what is possible. From transforming our campus through a £300m investment and capital development programme, to creating outstanding, innovative academic programmes, our work is always relevant and purpose-driven.

We believe that innovation powers our steps and are motivated to make a difference through positive social impact. We work in partnership with individuals and businesses to devise creative solutions not limited by imagination. We work at pace, and are always future-facing, with our teaching, learning and research focused on addressing the challenges of tomorrow, today. We do not stand still.

The School of Health and Life Sciences is now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Community Nursing (Teaching Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP)) to contribute to teaching, research, knowledge exchange, enterprise and knowledge exchange in the Department of Nursing & Midwifery in the School of Health & Life Sciences.

The standard TSPP academic role at the University includes a combination of teaching, scholarly activity, professional practice, knowledge exchange, business engagement and associated administrative activities. While all functions will combine these areas of work, the relative weight of each will vary between and over time for each role holder.

The postholder must be a practising nurse registered on the NMC register and must hold both a first degree and Masters in relevant discipline/equivalent professional qualification or significant practical work experience in a related discipline. You will utilise your knowledge to contribute to teaching, knowledge exchange, enterprise, and business engagement. Applicants must hold or willing to achieve a relevant Teaching Qualification normally within two years of employment i.e PGCHE/Higher Education Academy (Associate Fellow/Senior Fellow) accreditation alongside a Membership of a relevant professional body/Registered professional in the discipline/equivalent level of professional practice.

If you are shortlisted, your interview will take place via Teams.

Please note that the University may ask you to participate in a number of selection activities as part of the recruitment process for this vacancy.

Please be advised that due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post may qualify for University sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.
